Banshee是一個基于GTK#,面向GNOME桌面的強大的媒體播放器.經過了近八個月不間斷的開發(相對于上一個重要發布版),Banshee的1.0版正式發布了.
Banshee 1.0的出現可以說為GNOME桌面增加了一個強悍的“個人媒體助理”,之所以這樣說它,這是因為Banshee不再是一個簡單的“音頻播放器”了,在1.0中,Banshee不僅支持了視頻播放,而且支持同步個人音頻設備(如iPOD).因此才稱其為“個人媒體助理”.
