微軟已經宣布了Windows 8.1正式版的發布時間，新西蘭當地時間2013年10月18日中午12點，也就是北京時間早上8:00。同時，微軟還宣布了Windows 8.1的服務器版本，也就是Windows Server 2012 R2的發布日期。

和Windows 8.1一樣，授權用戶在10月18日將可以下載Windows Server 2012 R2，此外還有System Center 2012 R2、新版Windows Intune。微軟將通過TechNet Evaluation Center提供評估版本。

11月1日，Windows Server 2012 R2、System Center 2012 R2等產品將公開上架銷售。
