10月18日CCIE R&S v4.0版將發布
前幾日收到Cisco的郵件，通知CCIE R&S lab考試變體。“Upcoming revision to CCIE R&S Lab certification will become effective on October 18, 2009” 。新的版本是“CCIE R&S v4.0”，在2009年10月18日之前，老版CCIE R&S V3.0還可以繼續使用。不過現在才開始備戰CCIE R&S的朋友，直接準備V4版本吧。V3你是趕不及了。
官方的說法是:
Candidates who have exams scheduled October 18, 2009 or later should prepare using the CCIE R&S v4.0 Written Exam Topics (blueprints), CCIE R&S v4.0 Lab Exam Topics and the CCIE R&S v4.0 Lab Equipment and Software Versions.

不用過多的解釋CCIE是什么，CCIE怎么報考，CCIE怎么備戰，CCIE能干什么之類的話題了。如果你不知道的話，請google。這里我只簡單的說一下CCIE R&S v4.0的主要變化吧。
1.新增入了“Mobile CCIE Labs”, provide greater access to take your CCIE Routing & Switching Lab exam.
2.考試內容更新( Main changes): Larger Technology topics added: EIGRPv6, Optimized Edge Routing/Performance Routing, IPv6 multicast, MPLS VPN, RSVP.
3.新加入了—Troubleshooting. As of Oct 18th, the configuration section shrinks by 2 hours to 5.5 hours (appx), with a 2 hour troubleshooting section.
4.設備有變化—Version 3.0(effective through october 17.2009) / Version 4.0 (effective begining October 18, 2009)

Ladies and gentlemen, your new CCIE 4.0 lab! I fully expect to see all of the lab dates between now and 17 October to disappear pretty quickly as current candidates will make want to attempt the lab prior to the change-over date.

In addition, Cisco has introduced Mobile CCIE Labs to provide greater access to Lab testing while greatly reducing travel time and expenses in regions without a Cisco CCIE lab location.

目前CCIE R&S v4.0的推出只針對CCIE R&S lab考試。同樣的，mobile CCIE lab也是以CCIE R&S lab為試點推出。不知道這次的改革，對國內已經瀕臨混亂的CCIE人力市場會造成什么樣的沖擊，還是根本就和上次推出的“CCIE考試新增英文面試環節”一樣，很快就被中國國情化了。我們拭目以待，同時也非常希望備戰IT認證的朋友們能夠理性的對待這些證書，理性的對待自己的能力，理性的對待中國的IT人力市場。
